The Reaches' common spider: farmed for silk, venom, and meat, and ridden by hags and yeti alike. Made for Tir Hathar; see The Northern Reaches.
What it is. A spider the size of a draft horse, covered in a thick coat of pale, shaggy hair against the cold. Hag hamlets breed and farm them for silk, venom, and meat. They are the standard heavy mount and beast of burden for both hags and yeti. Wild ones still hunt the forests.

- Venom. A creature damaged by its bite makes a Physical save or loses its next Move action, its limbs going heavy.
- Web. Once per scene, as its Main Action, it throws a web at a target within 30 feet. The target makes an Evasion save or is held until it spends a Main Action and makes a Str/Exert check against difficulty 9.
- Climber. It walks up trees and cliffs at its full speed, even with a rider.
- Mount. A farmed one carries a yeti, or two human-sized riders, plus gear, and counts as Trained (see Creature Templates).
Still open: playtesting the numbers, and whether spider silk is traded outside the Reaches.
